The Opportunity:

As a Family Support Lead, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering strategies that support students and their families. This is a chance to make a real difference in the lives of young people, ensuring they are equipped for the next stage of their academic or working journey. The role involves working closely with families, multi-agency stakeholders, and the school community to improve attendance and student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective support strategies to improve student attendance and outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with students, families, and community stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners to address barriers to learning and attendance.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students and their families.
  • Deliver outreach initiatives that enhance engagement with the school community.
  • Work proactively to support students in their personal and academic development.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and programs that promote student well-being.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions to ensure alignment with the school's mission and values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Recent, positive, and demonstrable experience working with young people and families in the public, private, or voluntary sector.
  • Strong knowledge of pastoral care, safeguarding, and child protection.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with students, families, and stakeholders.
  • Resilience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting students in overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Experience in developing and delivering support programs for students and families.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading outreach work within a school or community setting.
  • Knowledge of strategies to improve attendance and student outcomes.
  • Experience with multi-agency collaboration and partnership working.
  • Experience in a school or education setting, particularly within a Catholic environment.
