As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex social, emotional, and learning challenges. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young people’s lives by providing tailored support that helps them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and learning challenges through 1:1 assistance
- Work closely with external professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists and Educational Psychologists
- Promote the welfare, safety, and wellbeing of all pupils
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individual support plans
- Assist with the day-to-day organisation and administration within the school
- Support families and carers as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required to support the school’s mission
- Help pupils build confidence and achieve academic and personal goals
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Level 3 qualification
- Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Previous experience in a SEND or specialist setting
- Valid driving licence
- Calm, consistent, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamworking skills
Preferred
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs or autism
- Experience in a therapeutic or inclusive educational environment
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies
- Experience in developing and implementing individual support plans
