Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging English lessons across all key stages.
  • Foster a love of literature and writing through innovative and creative teaching methods.
  • Support students in developing critical thinking, analytical skills, and a deep appreciation for the written word.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the English curriculum, including drama and poetry.
  • Lead and mentor students in independent reading and research.
  • Participate in a wide range of co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and challenging academic experience.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for literature and writing.
  • Experience teaching across a range of key stages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student development and academic excellence.

Preferred

  • Experience with Cambridge IGCSE or Eduqas A Level English.
  • Background in creative writing or academic publishing.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methodologies.
  • Experience working in a co-educational or independent school setting.
