The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate English Teacher to join our highly successful English Department and support students from Year 7 to Year 11, including GCSE-level qualifications. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students while working in a supportive and innovative educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality English Language and English Literature lessons to students from Year 7 to Year 11.
- Create engaging and creative teaching resources tailored to the needs of students with specific learning difficulties.
- Support students in achieving their full potential through differentiated instruction and individualized learning strategies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching practices and curriculum delivery.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities to enhance subject knowledge and teaching skills.
- Manage classes with a maximum size of 12 pupils, ensuring a focused and supportive learning environment.
- Contribute to the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in teaching English at secondary level.
- Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
- Experience in supporting students with specific learning difficulties.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and ICT skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience with Edexcel English Language and Literature IGCSEs or Functional Skills qualifications.
- Experience with Cambridge A Level English Literature.
- Demonstrable ability to create engaging and creative teaching resources.
- Experience in an all-through educational setting.
