Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
  • Support students in developing strong literacy skills and a deep appreciation for English language and literature.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement innovative teaching strategies.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the school’s whole-school focus on improving literacy outcomes.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Engage in extracurricular activities and school events to enhance the learning experience.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with school policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and teaching methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching across multiple key stages.
  • Leadership experience or willingness to take on leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience with inclusive education and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching practices and technology in the classroom.
