Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Religious Studies department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
- Deliver inspiring and impactful lessons that promote critical thinking and understanding of major world religions.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to contribute to the overall ethos and academic success of students.
- Support the development of the curriculum, including Islam and Christianity, in line with the latest educational research.
- Mentor and develop teaching staff within the department.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Represent the department in school meetings and contribute to strategic planning.
- Encourage student engagement and participation through extracurricular activities and events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Religious Studies at the secondary level.
- Strong subject knowledge, including Islam and Christianity.
- Excellent classroom management and teaching skills.
- Experience in leading and developing a department.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- Familiarity with data-driven teaching and learning strategies.
- Experience in pastoral care or student support.
- Leadership experience in a school setting.
