The Opportunity:

As a Teacher of Science, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality science education to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, high-performing Science department and contribute to a culture of innovation and excellence in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative Science lessons to KS3, KS4, and potentially KS5 students.
  • Promote the Science department and enhance opportunities for students both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve teaching and learning practices across the department.
  • Support the development of students’ scientific knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm for Science.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science education and incorporate new ideas and technologies into teaching.
  • Contribute to the planning, assessment, and marking of student work.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff development, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Encourage and support students in achieving their full potential in Science.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a degree in Chemistry, Physics, or Biology.
  • Experience teaching Science to KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in teaching.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching a second Science subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
  • Experience with Science enrichment activities or extra-curricular Science programs.
  • Experience with Science education in an all-ability setting.
  • Passion for promoting Science and inspiring future scientists.
