The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Physics lessons to Key Stage 4 and potentially Key Stage 5 students.
  • Promote a passion for Science and encourage student engagement both in and out of the classroom.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the Science department and its curriculum.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies and resources.
  • Monitor student progress and provide targeted support to ensure academic success.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff development, and whole-school initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all students.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular activities and events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Physics or a closely related subject.
  • Experience teaching Physics at Key Stage 4 and/or Key Stage 5.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for Science education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching a second Science subject.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching technologies and innovative pedagogical approaches.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and supporting students with diverse needs.
