Key Responsibilities:
- Teach English to students at Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5 to the highest standards.
- Contribute to the development of the wider curriculum and departmental initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver outstanding results and support student progress.
- Participate in planning, marking, and assessment to ensure consistent quality of teaching and learning.
- Support the school's mission by fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as part of a strong tutor system.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events that enhance the student experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Ability to teach English up to GCSE level, with potential to teach A-level.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred
- Experience with ECT support programs or a proven track record in teacher development.
- Experience in delivering high-achieving results in English at GCSE and A-level.
- Familiarity with the use of technology in the classroom.
- Experience in pastoral care or student mentoring.
