Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English to students at Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5 to the highest standards.
  • Contribute to the development of the wider curriculum and departmental initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver outstanding results and support student progress.
  • Participate in planning, marking, and assessment to ensure consistent quality of teaching and learning.
  • Support the school's mission by fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as part of a strong tutor system.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events that enhance the student experience.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Ability to teach English up to GCSE level, with potential to teach A-level.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with ECT support programs or a proven track record in teacher development.
  • Experience in delivering high-achieving results in English at GCSE and A-level.
  • Familiarity with the use of technology in the classroom.
  • Experience in pastoral care or student mentoring.
