The Opportunity:

As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic and personal development of students with SEMH needs. This is a chance to deliver inspiring lessons, lead English across the school, and contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the English curriculum with clear targets and outcomes.
  • Deliver engaging lessons that promote pupil engagement and achievement.
  • Safeguard and promote pupil welfare in line with statutory guidance.
  • Support colleagues in implementing English-related school improvement priorities.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, communicating effectively with parents and carers.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of individual pupils.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment with strong behaviour management.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Relevant English qualification.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • Experience in curriculum development and leadership within English.
  • Strong knowledge of assessment requirements and teaching strategies.
  • Understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
