The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support a range of learners, with a particular focus on boosting literacy and numeracy. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with diverse needs and who has experience in supporting pupils with mathematics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support class teachers in delivering lessons to a range of learners.
  • Work with small groups to improve literacy and numeracy outcomes.
  • Provide tailored support for children with diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement individual learning plans.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and development.
  • Contribute to the pastoral and co-curricular life of the school.
  • Assist in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in supporting learners with diverse needs.
  • A background in mathematics support is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with inclusive education practices.
  • Experience with literacy and numeracy intervention strategies.
  • Knowledge of teaching English as a second language.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £17,200 - £19,600 (equivalent to £21,500 - £24,500 full-time).
  • 35 weeks of term-time work per year.
