Key Responsibilities:

  • Set clear learning targets and assess student progress with regular feedback.
  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work and maintain a stimulating learning environment.
  • Engage with parents and the wider school community to support student success.
  • Take responsibility for professional development and participate in school duties and performance management activities.
  • Ensure students are well-prepared for examinations and assessments.
  • Foster a positive classroom culture that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and discussion.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Ability to deliver lessons that support student progress and achievement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in creating and delivering schemes of work aligned with curriculum specifications.

Preferred

  • Experience with AQA English Language and Literature specifications.
  • Background in teaching Media Studies at Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Experience in working with mixed ability groups and providing personalised support.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching strategies and technologies.
  • Experience in contributing to school-wide initiatives and collaborative projects.
