The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Business and Economics to lead and develop its growing department. This role offers the chance to shape the future of Business and Economics education at both GCSE and A Level, while inspiring students and supporting staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Business and Economics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Deliver outstanding lessons in GCSE and A Level Business Studies and Economics.
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the department, including curriculum planning and assessment.
  • Support and mentor junior staff, promoting professional development and best practice.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring achievement and engagement in all subjects.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular links and student outcomes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Business and Economics education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience teaching Business and Economics at Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Business Studies and Economics.
  • Excellent classroom management and teaching skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or team.
  • Familiarity with Edexcel GCSE and A Level qualifications.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
