The Opportunity:

As a Summer Camp English Teacher, you will deliver engaging English lessons and provide pastoral care to students during a four-week summer programme. This role is ideal for educators who are passionate about teaching and student wellbeing, and who thrive in a supportive, international environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure excellent pastoral care for day and boarding students, including health and safety, safeguarding, and discipline.
  • Lead activities, manage groups, and support staffing within the Languages element of the camp.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver stimulating and interactive English lessons for foreign language students.
  • Collaborate with the Director to organize and deliver engaging excursions and trips.
  • Assess student work, correct misunderstandings, and prepare end-of-stay reports for each camper.
  • Manage risks during activities and support risk assessments as required.
  • Address safety, child protection, timetabling, and behaviour issues, escalating concerns to the Director when necessary.
  • Support evening and weekend activities, including planning the evening activities schedule.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in curriculum-based teaching.
  • Teaching or coaching leadership qualifications.
  • Strong pastoral approach with a focus on students’ physical and mental wellbeing.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Reliable, adaptable, and committed with strong team spirit.
  • Willingness to work a minimum of 40 hours per week on a 6-day rota, including evenings and some weekends.
  • Full DBS clearance.

Preferred

  • Experience in boarding or relevant boarding qualifications.
  • Multilingual capability.
  • First Aid training or certification.
  • Understanding of camp ethos and experience in a similar role.
