Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective English lessons to students across a range of ability levels.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities.
  • Support the wider school community through extracurricular activities and pastoral care responsibilities.
  • Ensure a safe and secure learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).
  • Proven experience in teaching English at the secondary level.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Familiarity with current educational trends and pedagogical approaches.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
  • Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes and engagement.
