The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced English Teacher to join a school that is dedicated to academic excellence and student achievement. This role offers the opportunity to inspire and support students at A-Level and GCSE, within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons to A-Level and GCSE students.
  • Plan and prepare engaging and effective lesson plans that align with the curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning and personal development.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning.
  • Support the school's mission and values through active involvement in pastoral and enrichment activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in teaching English at A-Level and GCSE.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English Literature and Language.
  • Experience in delivering lessons to a range of student abilities.
  • Commitment to the school’s mission and ethos.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Previous experience in a school rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted.
  • Experience in developing and delivering enrichment and pastoral support programs.
  • Demonstrable success in raising student achievement and attainment.
