The Opportunity:
We are seeking an English Teacher with Literacy Responsibility to play a key role in delivering a high-quality English curriculum and leading literacy initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a full English curriculum at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 with a focus on academic excellence and student engagement.
- Lead and develop literacy strategies, including targeted reading interventions to support student progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high-quality approach to teaching and learning across the school.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Participate in staff development and training opportunities to enhance teaching practice and professional growth.
- Engage with parents and the wider community to promote the school's vision and support student achievement.
- Contribute to the development of school policies and initiatives that enhance student outcomes and wellbeing.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
- Proven experience in teaching English at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Strong knowledge of literacy development and reading intervention strategies.
- Commitment to inclusive teaching and student wellbeing.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Preferred
- Experience in leading literacy initiatives or curriculum development.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL) or similar qualifications.
- Familiarity with Ark’s training and development programmes.
- Experience working in a high-performing school or academy setting.
