Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in English at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
• Plan and deliver AQA GCSE and OCR GCE English courses with precision and consistency.
• Foster a culture of high expectations, discipline, and student engagement.
• Work collaboratively with department colleagues to ensure continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
• Support student progress through targeted intervention and enrichment opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records and assessments in line with school and departmental standards.
• Participate in departmental meetings, planning, and professional development activities.
• Promote the wider curriculum and co-curricular opportunities in English.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
• Strong subject knowledge in English and a passion for the subject.
• Experience of teaching English at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
• Commitment to high standards of teaching and student outcomes.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and take ownership of departmental responsibilities.

Preferred

• Experience of teaching AQA GCSE and OCR GCE English courses.
• Experience of working in a high-achieving, high-expectations environment.
• Experience of leading or contributing to departmental planning and strategy.
• Experience of working with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience of professional development and reflective practice.
