Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in English at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Plan and deliver AQA GCSE and OCR GCE English courses with precision and consistency.
- Foster a culture of high expectations, discipline, and student engagement.
- Work collaboratively with department colleagues to ensure continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
- Support student progress through targeted intervention and enrichment opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records and assessments in line with school and departmental standards.
- Participate in departmental meetings, planning, and professional development activities.
- Promote the wider curriculum and co-curricular opportunities in English.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
- Strong subject knowledge in English and a passion for the subject.
- Experience of teaching English at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Commitment to high standards of teaching and student outcomes.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and take ownership of departmental responsibilities.
Preferred
- Experience of teaching AQA GCSE and OCR GCE English courses.
- Experience of working in a high-achieving, high-expectations environment.
- Experience of leading or contributing to departmental planning and strategy.
- Experience of working with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience of professional development and reflective practice.
