We are seeking an experienced English Teacher with a responsibility for whole school literacy. This role is ideal for someone passionate about English and committed to raising standards across the school. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a high-quality, knowledge-rich English curriculum across all key stages.
- Lead and support whole school literacy initiatives to improve student outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Engage in professional development and contribute to departmental planning and strategy.
- Support the school’s ethos and values through teaching, leadership, and pastoral care.
- Mentor and develop early career teachers where appropriate.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and events that promote student learning and well-being.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant degree from an established university.
- PGCE/QTS or equivalent qualification.
- Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum for KS3, KS4, and KS5.
- Strong subject knowledge in English, ideally including A level expertise.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and self-reflection.
Preferred
- Experience in whole school literacy leadership or coordination.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL/TEFL).
- Experience in curriculum development and knowledge-based teaching.
- Leadership experience or an interest in developing leadership skills.
- Experience in ITT mentoring or teacher training.
