The Opportunity:

We are seeking an Estate Operative to support the maintenance and upkeep of a school’s infrastructure during the summer months. This role is ideal for someone who is self-motivated, flexible, and keen to contribute to the care of a prestigious institution’s buildings and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain hard surfaces, footpaths, and roadways using a road sweeper and jet wash
  • Undertake minor repair tasks, including signs, fixtures, and fittings
  • Keep gardens and footpaths clear and free from litter
  • Manage and dispose of waste effectively
  • Access and complete tasks via the site maintenance ticketing system
  • Support events and activities as required
  • Assist with routine maintenance of school minibuses, carpets, and furniture
  • Carry out seasonal tasks including gritting and snow clearance

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Initiative and responsibility for tasks with minimal supervision
  • Organised and able to work efficiently to deadlines
  • Flexibility to undertake a wide range of duties
  • Logical problem-solving skills

Preferred

  • Experience with maintenance or estates-related tasks
  • Familiarity with using tools and equipment for upkeep and repair
  • Experience in a school or educational setting

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Fixed-term contract for the summer period
  • Competitive hourly rate of £14.80
  • Structured working hours from 8.30am to 4.30pm, 37.5 hours per week
