The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students in the Phoenix Provision, a specialized unit for students with social and communication difficulties, including those on the autism spectrum. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students in the Phoenix Provision with individual and group learning activities.
• Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons in line with curriculum requirements.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
• Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure consistent support for students.
• Monitor and record student progress and behavior.
• Promote positive behavior and encourage student participation in learning.
• Assist in the preparation of resources and classroom materials.
• Contribute to the development of inclusive and engaging learning environments.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience working with students with social and communication difficulties, including those with ASD.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
• Relevant qualifications or experience in education or a related field.

Preferred

• Experience in a school setting, particularly with students with special educational needs.
• Knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and related support strategies.
• Experience in teaching or supporting learning in a classroom environment.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive salary based on points scale.
• Term-time only working pattern (39 weeks per year).
• 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
