The Opportunity:
As an Estates and Health & Safety Administrator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the school environment is safe, well-maintained, and compliant with all regulations. This is a key position that supports the school’s mission and contributes directly to the well-being of students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the school’s estate, ensuring all buildings and facilities are in good working condition.
- Oversee health and safety protocols across the school, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
- Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for maintenance and repair work.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, health and safety incidents, and compliance checks.
- Support the school in preparing for Ofsted inspections and audits.
- Liaise with senior management and staff to ensure health and safety policies are followed consistently.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on health and safety procedures and best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant qualifications in estates management, health and safety, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance standards.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in managing large estates or facilities within a school or college.
- Previous experience in preparing for Ofsted inspections or audits.
- Knowledge of fire safety and emergency procedures.
- Experience with health and safety training and delivery.
