The Opportunity:

As an Estates and Health & Safety Administrator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the school environment is safe, well-maintained, and compliant with all regulations. This is a key position that supports the school’s mission and contributes directly to the well-being of students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the school’s estate, ensuring all buildings and facilities are in good working condition.
  • Oversee health and safety protocols across the school, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for maintenance and repair work.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, health and safety incidents, and compliance checks.
  • Support the school in preparing for Ofsted inspections and audits.
  • Liaise with senior management and staff to ensure health and safety policies are followed consistently.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on health and safety procedures and best practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualifications in estates management, health and safety, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance standards.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing large estates or facilities within a school or college.
  • Previous experience in preparing for Ofsted inspections or audits.
  • Knowledge of fire safety and emergency procedures.
  • Experience with health and safety training and delivery.
