The Opportunity:

As an Evening Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining the security and safety of the school premises during evening lettings. You will ensure a secure and welcoming environment for external users, manage site access, monitor CCTV, and maintain detailed logs of all evening activities. This role is essential to the smooth operation of the school during after-hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Secure unused areas and manage the transition from the end of the school day to evening lettings.
• Act as the primary point of contact for external groups and provide support for lettings management.
• Monitor CCTV and respond to alarms in a timely and effective manner.
• Control access to the school site and ensure compliance with security protocols.
• Maintain detailed logs of evening activities, security checks, and incidents.
• Communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, and external agencies.
• Ensure a welcoming and safe environment for all external users.
• Adhere to health and safety practices and report any concerns promptly.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience in a security or similar role, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with students, parents, and external agencies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good time management and organisational skills.
• Familiarity with CCTV systems and security procedures.
• Commitment to health and safety standards.

Preferred

• Experience with managing access control systems or security software.
• Previous experience in a school or college environment.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing hours, particularly during netball season.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures and incident reporting.
