The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Exam Invigilator to support the smooth running of exams during May and June. This role is essential in upholding the integrity of the examination process and ensuring a secure and fair environment for all candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct examinations in accordance with JCQ and awarding body regulations
  • Uphold the integrity and security of the examination process at all times
  • Report to and be briefed by the Exams Officer prior to each exam session
  • Ensure exam rooms are set up and maintained according to required standards
  • Admit and seat candidates according to formal exam arrangements
  • Distribute and collect exam materials securely and accurately
  • Supervise candidates throughout the exam period and manage any disruptions or irregularities
  • Complete attendance registers and report any incidents promptly
  • Instruct candidates on exam procedures and answer questions in line with regulations
  • Support with additional duties such as centre supervision and access arrangements

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Reliability and flexibility to work during main exam periods
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Confidence and a reassuring presence for candidates
  • Ability to manage and give instructions to different groups of people
  • Basic IT skills (email, mobile phone messaging)

Preferred

  • Previous experience in invigilation or related roles
  • Experience with exam administration or security procedures
  • Understanding of JCQ or similar examination regulations
