The Opportunity:
As an Examination Officer, you will play a vital role in managing all aspects of public examination and certification processes. This position ensures the smooth running of exams, compliance with board requirements, and the provision of accurate, confidential records. The role is essential to maintaining the school’s high standards and supporting students in achieving their academic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the smooth running and integrity of all exam systems and procedures.
- Act as the designated BTEC Quality Nominee at the academy.
- Organise schedules for exam invigilators during working hours.
- Ensure compliance with all exam board requirements to maintain the school’s exam status.
- Provide training to invigilators on the Joint Council’s instructions for exam conduct.
- Liaise with the facilities team to ensure examination environments meet required standards.
- Liaise with awarding bodies to provide special consideration for students.
- Create and distribute examination, rooming, and invigilation timetables.
- Manage the electronic download and distribution of examination results.
- Input and analyse data using relevant examination software.
- Liaise with teaching staff on student entry choices and support option selection events.
- Monitor the quality of invigilators and take appropriate action when necessary.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and work flexibly.
- Experience in administering examination processes and maintaining accurate records.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage and analyse data using relevant software.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all aspects of the role.
Preferred
- Experience with BTEC qualifications or other awarding bodies.
- Experience in training and managing invigilators.
- Familiarity with Bromcom or similar examination software.
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- First aid or health and safety qualifications.
