The Opportunity:

As a Premises Manager, you will take strategic leadership of premises operations across the school, ensuring a safe, compliant, and efficient environment. This role is pivotal in supporting the school’s mission and community, with the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the school's infrastructure and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the school premises.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, legal, and statutory requirements.
  • Lead and supervise premises assistants and external contractors.
  • Implement Trust estates policies and compliance systems at the school level.
  • Coordinate with the Headteacher and Business Manager to maintain a safe and sustainable environment.
  • Respond to emergencies and prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Maintain digital logs and manage data entry using relevant systems.
  • Ensure all buildings, grounds, and facilities are well-maintained and in line with Trust standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Comprehensive understanding of health and safety laws and Trust compliance systems.
  • Experience in premises management and maintenance.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and respond to emergencies.
  • Strong communication skills with senior leaders and external contractors.
  • Proficiency in data-entry and digital log management (e.g., IAMCompliant or similar).

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Leadership experience in managing a team of premises staff.
  • Familiarity with NPQs or other professional development qualifications.
  • Knowledge of sustainable building practices and energy efficiency.
