The Opportunity:

As a Facilities Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the school's environment, ensuring that all areas are safe, clean, and well-maintained. This is a hands-on position that requires a proactive approach, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for supporting the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks including painting, decorating, and general building upkeep.
  • Ensure the school buildings and grounds are kept to a high standard of cleanliness and safety.
  • Assist with cleaning duties such as work area preparation, post-decorating clean-up, and spill removal.
  • Communicate effectively with the Facilities Management team, maintaining accurate records of completed work.
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies, identifying and reporting hazards or defects promptly.
  • Carry out administrative tasks as required by the Line Manager.
  • Act as a positive role model to students, contributing to a supportive and respectful school environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Practical DIY skills and experience with health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical fitness to carry out manual tasks.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and staff.

Preferred

  • Experience in a similar educational or facilities role.
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
  • Experience with record-keeping and administrative tasks.
