The Opportunity:

As a Food Technology Teacher, you will play a key role in inspiring students to explore the world of food and nutrition through hands-on learning. You will deliver engaging lessons that challenge and motivate students, helping them develop essential culinary skills and a lifelong appreciation for food technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality theory and practical lessons in Food Technology
  • Inspire and motivate students to develop a passion for food and nutrition
  • Plan and implement engaging and innovative lesson plans
  • Support students in achieving their full potential at GCSE level
  • Encourage positive behaviour and high expectations in the classroom
  • Work collaboratively with the Expressive Arts department to enhance departmental success
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor to students
  • Participate in the school’s professional development and training programmes

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Food Technology
  • Experience in teaching Food Technology at secondary level
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding
  • Ability to deliver both theoretical and practical lessons

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering GCSE-level Food Technology courses
  • Experience with new teaching methodologies or technologies
  • Background in curriculum development or assessment strategies
  • Experience in working within a Church of England school or similar environment
