The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Site Assistant to join our team and contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and secure environment for students and staff. This role is essential in supporting the smooth running of the school and ensuring the premises are well-maintained and compliant with all standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment across all school premises and grounds.
  • Support the Premises Manager with practical tasks such as moving furniture and setting up rooms for activities.
  • Conduct compliance checks and carry out general repairs and maintenance as required.
  • Act as a keyholder, responsible for unlocking and locking the school premises and ensuring the security of the site.
  • Assist with lettings on weekends and during school holidays, including ad-hoc shifts as needed.
  • Work flexible hours, including some weekend and evening shifts, to support the school’s operational needs.
  • Collaborate with the site team to ensure the smooth running of the school throughout the year.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to health and safety standards.
  • Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with keyholding and site security procedures.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a school or educational environment.
  • Knowledge of basic maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Experience with compliance checks and health and safety protocols.
  • Flexibility to work across different areas of the school and adapt to changing priorities.
