The Opportunity:
As a Facilities Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining the school's buildings and ensuring a safe, secure, and efficient learning environment for students and staff. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the security, care and availability of the school’s buildings, furniture, fittings and equipment.
- Maintain a satisfactory physical environment that supports the efficient use of the school’s assets.
- Undertake a planned maintenance programme of painting and repairs under the direction of the Facilities Manager.
- Support the Facilities Manager in ensuring the health and safety and security of the school.
- Assist with porterage duties and other general maintenance tasks as required.
- Cover for other team members when necessary, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute across the team.
- Promote a proactive and flexible approach to working hours and duties.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Trustworthy, reliable, hardworking, and physically fit.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic IT skills and an understanding of safeguarding.
- Some knowledge of Health & Safety.
Preferred
- Good DIY skills.
- Experience in maintenance or facilities management.
- Previous experience in an educational setting.
