The Opportunity:

As a Facilities Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining the school's buildings and ensuring a safe, secure, and efficient learning environment for students and staff. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the security, care and availability of the school’s buildings, furniture, fittings and equipment.
  • Maintain a satisfactory physical environment that supports the efficient use of the school’s assets.
  • Undertake a planned maintenance programme of painting and repairs under the direction of the Facilities Manager.
  • Support the Facilities Manager in ensuring the health and safety and security of the school.
  • Assist with porterage duties and other general maintenance tasks as required.
  • Cover for other team members when necessary, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute across the team.
  • Promote a proactive and flexible approach to working hours and duties.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Trustworthy, reliable, hardworking, and physically fit.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic IT skills and an understanding of safeguarding.
  • Some knowledge of Health & Safety.

Preferred

  • Good DIY skills.
  • Experience in maintenance or facilities management.
  • Previous experience in an educational setting.
