Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the science department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement an innovative and engaging science curriculum.
- Support staff through professional development and mentorship.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning.
- Promote a culture of scientific inquiry and curiosity among students.
- Represent the school at external events and conferences.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and statutory requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in leading a science department.
- Strong subject knowledge in science and a commitment to academic excellence.
- Proven ability to manage and develop a team of teachers.
- Experience in curriculum design and delivery.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Preferred
- Experience in a school with a strong Christian ethos.
- Knowledge of inclusive education and strategies for supporting diverse learners.
- Experience with Ofsted inspections or similar regulatory frameworks.
- Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies and technologies.
