Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the science department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement an innovative and engaging science curriculum.
  • Support staff through professional development and mentorship.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning.
  • Promote a culture of scientific inquiry and curiosity among students.
  • Represent the school at external events and conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and statutory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in leading a science department.
  • Strong subject knowledge in science and a commitment to academic excellence.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop a team of teachers.
  • Experience in curriculum design and delivery.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a strong Christian ethos.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education and strategies for supporting diverse learners.
  • Experience with Ofsted inspections or similar regulatory frameworks.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies and technologies.
