As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and external agencies to ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive both academically and socially. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 learning support to students as required.
- Develop a deep understanding of individual student needs and collaborate with SENCo, class teachers, and external agencies.
- Adapt and modify learning materials to support student access and engagement.
- Create and maintain an inclusive learning environment across the school.
- Use positive reinforcement and rewards to encourage student progress and confidence.
- Facilitate peer interaction and inclusion in group activities.
- Attend training sessions and meetings to stay updated on best practices in special educational needs support.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with students with special educational needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Preferred
- Experience in developing and modifying learning resources.
- Knowledge of different learning styles and support strategies.
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
