Facilities Manager needed to oversee maintenance and safety at a school.

The Opportunity:

As a Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of a school’s buildings and grounds. You will lead the Site Team and manage all aspects of maintenance, improvement, and safety. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards that support a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of the school’s buildings and grounds.
  • Supervise and support the Site Team to ensure all duties are completed to a high standard.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on matters related to site maintenance and improvement.
  • Conduct routine and systematic in-house checks to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure all facilities meet the needs of students, staff, and visitors.
  • Ensure that all health and safety protocols are followed and maintained across the site.
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of maintenance schedules and improvements.
  • Monitor and manage budgets related to facilities management and maintenance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in facilities management, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and building maintenance standards.
  • Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing large or complex sites within a school environment.
  • Familiarity with Jewish educational institutions or values.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and energy efficiency practices in facility management.
  • Experience with the use of facility management software and systems.
