Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and resources to support practical work across the department.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and laboratory best practices.
- Support the delivery of science lessons by providing practical materials and demonstrations.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and stock levels.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to enhance the student experience.
- Promote a culture of safety and best practice among students and colleagues.
- Assist in the organisation and management of laboratory spaces and storage areas.
- Provide guidance and support to students during practical sessions.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant experience in a chemistry laboratory or similar setting.
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques and equipment maintenance.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in a laboratory environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Preferred
- Experience working in an educational setting, ideally within a school.
- Experience with teaching or supporting practical science lessons.
- Proactive approach and ability to take initiative in maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
