The Opportunity:

As a Family Engagement Officer, you will be a vital link between families and the school, supporting vulnerable pupils and promoting positive outcomes. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact through strong relationships, advocacy, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with families and students.
  • Provide support and guidance to families facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
  • Work proactively with parents, carers, and external agencies to improve attendance and student well-being.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and support to ensure all students can fully engage in school life.
  • Promote inclusion and ensure all families feel valued and supported.
  • Monitor and report on attendance, engagement, and student progress.
  • Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement strategies that support student success.
  • Advocate for the needs of students and families within the school and wider community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in working with families and children in an educational or pastoral setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Experience in supporting students with social, emotional, or behavioural needs.
  • Commitment to inclusion and promoting positive outcomes for all students.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in improving attendance and student engagement.

Preferred

  • Experience in working with vulnerable families or children.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and best practices.
  • Experience in community engagement or partnership working.
  • Experience with pastoral support or student well-being initiatives.
  • Familiarity with the Achievement through Collaboration Trust values and mission.

Compensation & Benefits:
