The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Religious Education Teacher to lead a Key Stage within the RE Learning Area and contribute to a curriculum that is ambitious, inspirational, and progressive. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of RE at the school, ensuring it continues to challenge and engage students from all backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a Key Stage within the RE Learning Area.
- Develop and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the RE curriculum and its clearly defined end points.
- Plan and implement learning sequences that foster progressive skills and knowledge in students.
- Evaluate and refine current provision to ensure the RE curriculum remains ambitious and relevant.
- Collaborate with the Learning Area Coordinator and colleagues to maintain a balance between traditional and innovative teaching methods.
- Support students in developing their understanding of faith and community cohesion through safe and academic exploration.
- Work with SACRE to shape the KS3 curriculum and ensure it meets the needs of all learners.
- Monitor and assess student progress, using assessment to inform and enhance teaching practice.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a Religious Education Teacher.
- Strong understanding of the RE curriculum and its end points.
- Ability to lead and manage a Key Stage effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the school’s Christian values and mission.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and evaluation.
- Familiarity with SACRE and KS3 curriculum design.
- Experience with innovative teaching methodologies.
- Background in working with diverse student populations.
- Experience in pastoral support and community cohesion initiatives.
