The Opportunity:

As a Trust Governance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the academy trust and its associated charities operate in full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. This role supports the strategic decision-making process and enables effective governance across the trust.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements across the academy trust and its associated charities.
  • Provide high-quality professional support for governance meetings and decision-making processes.
  • Develop and implement guidance and procedures to improve governance practices.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including the Executive team, Members, and Trustees.
  • Support the continual improvement of governance structures and processes across the trust.
  • Deliver professional advice and support to enable strategic leaders to make informed decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Star Central team to enhance the overall governance support service.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and transparency within the trust.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree or significant experience in a relevant field.
  • Previous line management experience in a professional office environment.
  • Ability to develop, communicate, and implement guidance and procedures effectively.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to build effective working and professional relationships.

Preferred

  • Experience in corporate or academy governance.
  • Familiarity with statutory and regulatory frameworks in education.
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust environment.
  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.
