As a Farming Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the school farm and providing essential support during staff absences and school holidays. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the daily care and feeding of farm animals.
  • Monitor and report on the health and wellbeing of animals.
  • Keep animal housing, paddocks, and farm facilities clean and safe.
  • Support routine maintenance tasks such as fencing, grounds upkeep, and equipment care.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety and animal welfare standards.
  • Assist with farm-based educational programmes and activities.
  • Provide reliable cover during staff absences and school holidays.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Basic knowledge of animal care and handling.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Commitment to health and safety protocols.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends as required.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in animal care or farming.
  • Experience working with children or in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of farm equipment and machinery.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
