The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the school’s financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Oversee payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Prepare and present regular financial reports to senior leadership.
  • Support the school’s strategic goals by providing accurate financial insights and analysis.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective use of resources.
  • Monitor and control expenditure to maintain financial sustainability.
  • Liaise with external auditors and financial advisors as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a senior financial role, preferably within the education sector.
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems and accounting software.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with school budgeting and financial planning.
  • Familiarity with the Teachers’ Pension Scheme and Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in managing a team or leading financial projects.
