The Opportunity:

A Flute Teacher is needed to inspire a love of music and support students from beginner to advanced levels. This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant music department that offers a wide range of performance and ensemble opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach flute students across all levels, from beginner to Grade 8 and beyond.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that inspire and nurture student motivation and achievement.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Instrumental Studies and other visiting teachers.
  • Support students in preparing for performances and competitions.
  • Participate in the school’s annual Festival and other musical events.
  • Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Contribute to the development of the school’s music program and performance opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a flute teacher and performer at all levels.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with young people across different age groups.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Willingness to teach students in both Junior and Senior Schools.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching within a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of music performance opportunities and ensemble work.
  • Experience with music festivals or competitions.
  • Strong understanding of music theory and pedagogy.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate of £46.80.
