The Opportunity:
As a Flute Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the musical development of students across all age levels. You will deliver high-quality one-to-one lessons and have the opportunity to support ensembles, orchestral rehearsals, and performances, contributing to a vibrant and successful music department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver weekly 30-minute one-to-one flute lessons to pupils from beginner to diploma standard.
- Support ensemble rehearsals and contribute to school concerts and performances.
- Prepare students for ABRSM examinations and help them achieve excellent outcomes.
- Collaborate with other music teachers and visiting instructors to enhance the department’s offerings.
- Ensure a safe and inspiring learning environment for all students.
- Maintain up-to-date records of student progress and performance.
- Engage with students and parents to support their musical development.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of music education.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified to degree or diploma level in Music.
- Proven ability to perform and teach to a high standard.
- Experience teaching across a wide range of ages and abilities.
- Organised, personable, and inspiring.
- Committed to safeguarding and professional excellence.
- Registered as self-employed and hold (or be willing to obtain) a DBS Update Service subscription.
Preferred
- Experience coaching ensembles or working with ABRSM examinations.
- Background in music performance or education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with music technology and digital resources.
