Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging art lessons tailored to the needs and abilities of students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and self-confidence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the overall educational and personal development of students.
  • Create and maintain resources and displays that reflect student progress and achievements.
  • Work closely with parents and carers to support student learning and well-being.
  • Participate in school events and contribute to the broader school community.
  • Monitor and assess student progress in line with curriculum objectives.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in art education and special needs support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in special needs education.
  • Strong knowledge of art and design curriculum and teaching methods.
  • Experience working with children with additional needs and Educational Health Care Plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of individual students.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting within the Beckmead Trust or similar organisations.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction.
  • Experience in creating visual displays and resources for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Commitment to the values of Love, Flourishing, Community and Social Justice.
