Flute Teacher position available at a school in Dulwich starting September 2026.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Flute Teacher to join our team starting in September 2026. This role is ideal for a versatile musician with a passion for teaching, ensemble work, and inspiring students of all levels. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow within the school and contribute to a dynamic music programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach flute lessons to students ranging from beginners to Grade 8.
  • Lead and develop small ensembles such as flute choirs.
  • Deliver theory and aural classes as required.
  • Support students in achieving their musical goals through individual and group instruction.
  • Collaborate with other instrumental teachers and music staff.
  • Maintain a high standard of teaching and student engagement.
  • Participate in school events and performances.
  • Develop and update teaching materials and resources.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a flute performer and teacher.
  • Ability to teach students from beginner to advanced levels.
  • Experience working with ensembles and small groups.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching composition.
  • Keyboard skills.
  • Flexibility to teach a range of classes including theory and aural.
  • Experience with beginners up to Grade 5.
  • Background in arranging or tutoring for small ensembles.
