The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Peripatetic Singing Teacher to deliver high-quality music education to pupils in Years 3 to 6. This role offers the chance to inspire young learners and contribute to a dynamic and growing music department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual and shared singing lessons tailored to the needs and abilities of pupils.
  • Prepare students for ABRSM examinations and school performances.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents regarding lesson schedules and student progress.
  • Organise and manage your own timetable, ensuring a rotating schedule of lesson times.
  • Keep detailed records of lessons delivered, attendance, and student progress.
  • Collaborate with the Junior School Director of Music to monitor and support student development.
  • Adhere to all school policies on child protection, safeguarding, health and safety, and risk assessment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A musical qualification (e.g., music degree or relevant certificate/diploma).
  • Experience teaching singing to children in the primary age range.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a flexible, self-employed role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Preferred

  • Experience with ABRSM grading and performance preparation.
  • Familiarity with co-curricular music programmes and ensembles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a school team.
  • Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to a wide range of abilities.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • £27 per 30-minute lesson for individual singing sessions.
  • £14 per shared lesson.
  • Term-time, flexible working arrangement.
  • Self-employed agreement with direct payment from parents.
