The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic Music Department as a Peripatetic Singing Teacher, delivering high-quality singing lessons to pupils in the Junior School. This role offers the chance to shape young musicians and contribute to a thriving co-curricular music programme.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver singing lessons tailored to the ability and progress of each pupil.
• Prepare students for examinations and performances as required.
• Maintain regular communication with parents regarding timetables and student progress.
• Organise and manage your own teaching timetable, ensuring a rotating schedule.
• Keep accurate records of lessons delivered and student attendance.
• Collaborate with the Junior School Director of Music to monitor student progress and address any issues.
• Adhere to all school policies on child protection, safeguarding, health and safety, and risk assessment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A musical qualification such as a music degree or relevant certificate/diploma.
• Experience teaching singing to children in the primary age range.
• Strong organisational skills, punctuality, and reliability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to working in a team and being flexible.

Preferred

• Experience with ABRSM graded examinations.
• Experience working within a school environment.
• A passion for working with children and developing their musical abilities.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive rate of £27 per 30-minute lesson for junior school pupils.
• £14 per shared lesson for junior school pupils.
• Flexible, term-time working arrangement.
