Summary:

Guitar Teacher position available at a school in Dulwich starting September 2026.

The Opportunity:

A Guitar Teacher is sought to deliver high-quality instrumental tuition and support students from beginner to Grade 5. The role involves teaching individual lessons, leading ensembles, and contributing to a vibrant and inclusive performing arts community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach individual guitar lessons across acoustic, electric, and bass guitar
  • Lead and develop small ensembles, including Guitar Ensemble
  • Deliver theory and aural classes where applicable
  • Support students in progressing through graded examinations
  • Engage with a diverse range of students and contribute to a collaborative teaching environment
  • Maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere in lessons
  • Participate in school events and activities
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a guitar teacher and performer
  • Ability to teach students at all levels, including beginners
  • Experience in leading ensembles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality music education

Preferred

  • Experience teaching theory or aural classes
  • Flexibility to teach across a range of instruments and levels
  • Experience with students up to Grade 5
  • Background in arranging for ensembles
