The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Food and Nutrition Coordinator to lead and manage the department, delivering an engaging and high-quality curriculum across Key Stage 3 and AQA Food Preparation and Nutrition. This role offers the chance to inspire students, lead a team, and contribute to a dynamic and supportive school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the Food & Nutrition department, including line management of a technician and part-time staff.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that align with the AQA Food Preparation and Nutrition specification.
  • Develop and implement an inspiring curriculum that promotes practical expertise and student enthusiasm.
  • Organise and run enrichment activities such as clubs, competitions, and other extracurricular events.
  • Oversee budget management and ensure the department maintains high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Support and mentor students of all abilities, fostering a love for Food & Nutrition.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through collaborative initiatives and departmental leadership.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a Food and Nutrition teacher, with a strong background in delivering the AQA specification.
  • Excellent practical expertise in Food & Nutrition and the ability to inspire students of all abilities.
  • Experience in managing a department and leading a team of staff.
  • Strong organisational and budget management skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering engaging, innovative lessons.
  • Background in curriculum leadership or departmental management.
  • Ability to contribute to wider school initiatives and events.
  • Experience with extracurricular activities and student enrichment programmes.
