The Opportunity:
As a Food and Nutrition Technician, you will support the delivery of Food Technology and Nutrition lessons in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about food education and committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients, equipment and resources for Food & Nutrition lessons in line with lesson plans.
- Support teachers and students during practical sessions and assist with demonstrations.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and safety at all times.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food safety standards.
- Manage stock levels of food, ingredients, cleaning products and consumables.
- Maintain organised storage areas and keep resource files updated.
- Communicate clearly with teaching staff and the job-share partner to ensure continuity.
- Undertake training as required, including Food Hygiene and technician-related courses.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Good standard of spoken and written English.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to undertake Food Hygiene certification and relevant technician training.
- Basic IT skills, or willingness to develop these.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a school, catering or food-related environment.
- Food Hygiene certification or relevant qualifications.
- Experience supporting practical learning activities.
