The Opportunity:

As a Food and Nutrition Technician, you will support the delivery of Food Technology and Nutrition lessons in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about food education and committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients, equipment and resources for Food & Nutrition lessons in line with lesson plans.
  • Support teachers and students during practical sessions and assist with demonstrations.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and safety at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food safety standards.
  • Manage stock levels of food, ingredients, cleaning products and consumables.
  • Maintain organised storage areas and keep resource files updated.
  • Communicate clearly with teaching staff and the job-share partner to ensure continuity.
  • Undertake training as required, including Food Hygiene and technician-related courses.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Good standard of spoken and written English.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to undertake Food Hygiene certification and relevant technician training.
  • Basic IT skills, or willingness to develop these.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a school, catering or food-related environment.
  • Food Hygiene certification or relevant qualifications.
  • Experience supporting practical learning activities.
