The Opportunity:
As a Sports Teacher Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of Games lessons and co-curricular sports activities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving sports department and help shape the school's sporting culture through enthusiasm, organisation, and dedication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of Games lessons and co-curricular sports programme across a range of sports.
- Take responsibility for a sports team on a Saturday morning, including officiating fixtures.
- Set up and store equipment as directed by the PE department.
- Maintain stock levels of sports equipment and report shortages to the Director of Sport.
- Ensure all first aid bags are fully stocked and ready for use.
- Organise and manage sports storage cupboards at the school and ORRFC.
- Carry out basic maintenance and repairs to sporting equipment.
- Prepare and set out rooms and sports pitches as required.
- Prepare match day bags in a timely manner for staff.
- Assist with the organisation of match teas on a Saturday.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A valid, clean driving licence.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Relevant experience in sports or a related field.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A proactive and positive attitude.
- Competence in ICT, literacy, and numeracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Commitment to safeguarding young people.
- Willingness to undergo basic first aid training.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a sports leadership role.
- Knowledge of various sports (e.g. Football, Rugby, Cricket, Netball).
- Relevant sports-related qualifications.
- Familiarity with Health & Safety protocols in a sporting environment.
