The Opportunity:
As Assistant Principal for Key Stage 3 and 4, you will play a key role in shaping the academic and pastoral direction of the school. You will support the Principal in delivering the school’s vision and managing the day-to-day operations of the campus. This is an opportunity to lead with compassion, drive innovation, and make a meaningful impact on student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Principal in delivering the school’s strategic vision and leadership goals
- Manage the day-to-day operations and growth of Key Stage 3 and 4
- Monitor and enhance the curriculum and exam outcomes for students
- Advise senior leaders on innovative approaches and best practices
- Coach and mentor staff to foster a supportive and high-achieving environment
- Ensure compliance with Teachers’ Standards and model best practice
- Deputise for the DSL when required and manage safeguarding responsibilities
- Collaborate with multi-agency partners and clinical teams to support student wellbeing
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in leading a team within an educational setting
- Strong understanding of Key Stage 3 and 4 systems and curricula
- Ability to coach and mentor staff effectively
- Experience in managing school operations and resources
- Knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour management practices
- Commitment to trauma-informed approaches and student wellbeing
Preferred
- Experience in senior leadership roles within schools
- Familiarity with trauma-informed education and clinical supervision
- Experience in delivering CPD and leadership training
- Background in educational psychology or related fields
- Qualifications in leadership or coaching (e.g., NPQH)
