The Opportunity:

As Assistant Principal for Key Stage 3 and 4, you will play a key role in shaping the academic and pastoral direction of the school. You will support the Principal in delivering the school’s vision and managing the day-to-day operations of the campus. This is an opportunity to lead with compassion, drive innovation, and make a meaningful impact on student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Principal in delivering the school’s strategic vision and leadership goals
  • Manage the day-to-day operations and growth of Key Stage 3 and 4
  • Monitor and enhance the curriculum and exam outcomes for students
  • Advise senior leaders on innovative approaches and best practices
  • Coach and mentor staff to foster a supportive and high-achieving environment
  • Ensure compliance with Teachers’ Standards and model best practice
  • Deputise for the DSL when required and manage safeguarding responsibilities
  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners and clinical teams to support student wellbeing

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading a team within an educational setting
  • Strong understanding of Key Stage 3 and 4 systems and curricula
  • Ability to coach and mentor staff effectively
  • Experience in managing school operations and resources
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour management practices
  • Commitment to trauma-informed approaches and student wellbeing

Preferred

  • Experience in senior leadership roles within schools
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed education and clinical supervision
  • Experience in delivering CPD and leadership training
  • Background in educational psychology or related fields
  • Qualifications in leadership or coaching (e.g., NPQH)
